'Larry' Issue Three...

Due to various other aspects of my life taking precedence, this issue has been severely delayed on several occassions, however after approximately three months in the making (somewhat intermittently), it is finally finished...
Larry issue three is A5, 32 pages, black and white, and as always printed on recycled paper (though this time it's 120gsm paper as oppose to 80, so it's a little heavier...). Each copy is hand-tied, numbered, and has a little window cut out of a cartridge paper cover, this time using a sharper scalpel, but with a rather crooked ruler.
Content in this issue includes friendships, promiscuity, visual identity, a guide to the drawing technique of sgraffito, and a bunch of other things, with illustrations throughout.
I've made fifty copies and would love to trade them for stuff, so if you'd like one please get in touch...
Thanks

'24 Hour Zine Thing' 2010

For 24 hours beginning from 9am on Monday 26th July 2010, I took part in the '24 Hour Zine Thing' (for more information, visit 24hourzines.com), and created this little 24 page A6 piece titled 'The Routes We Wander', consisting of twelve location drawings and a fairly abstract written narrative.
If you would like a copy, please get in touch.
Thanks...

Moleskine Sketches Twenty Six: 'Canal' / 24 Hour Zine Thing

With July officially being zine month, and today being the only day that such a thing would be possible for me, I decided to make it my day for making my '24 Hour Zine Thing'. I'll post more on this project tomorrow when it's finished, but I thought I would upload one of the twelve drawings that I made today for the zine, which I have until 9am tomorrow morning to complete. It's going to be a long night...

Moleskine Sketches Twenty Five: 'Headphones'

Sticking with the theme of music and recording, here are some rather chunky headphones. Heaven knows why I chose to draw them with the lead wrapped around...

Moleskine Sketches Twenty Four: 'Patch Lead'

Another busy day recording means another quick drawing, this time of an end of a 'patch lead', used to connect FX pedals together...

Moleskine Sketches Twenty Two: 'Watch'

I've never been one for wearing a watch, but lacking in inspiration and upon asking my brother for something to draw, he handed me his trusty Bear Grylls-style time-keeper. Very nice...

Moleskine Sketches Twenty One: 'Guillotine'

Third in the series of things I'll miss is the A1 guillotine, for when a ruler and scalpel just won't cut it...

Moleskine Sketches Twenty: 'Lightbox'

Second in the series of things I'll miss from the Uni base room is the rather large lightbox; the light of my life (quite literally...). Back to using my bedroom window it is then...

Moleskine Sketches Nineteen: 'Spray Booth'

I'm hoping that this will be my last week spent at Uni while I finish off issue three of my zine and get it copied. I therefore thought I would draw some things from the base room that I will no doubt miss when I vacate the premises.
The spray booth has been a pretty useful piece of equipment over the years, preventing many headaches whilst applying fixative to particularly heavy charcoal drawings. From now on, weather permitting, I guess I'll just have to transfer out into the open air...

Moleskine Sketches Eighteen: 'Bird Feeder Two'

Here's the feeder replaced, and given that word has been passed that a rather flat squirrel has been seen in the road along the top of my street, there it may stay.
R.I.P. Cyril the Squirrel; I take back everything I said...
(see the post 'Moleskine Sketches Twelve' for a drawing of Cyril)

Moleskine Sketches Seventeen: 'Bird Feeder One'

Yesterday was a pretty busy day, and thus I didn't have chance to scan this, but here it finally is.
That pesky squirrel keeps taking the lids off of the bird feeders to steal the nuts and things, and even knocked this one onto the floor. Now, I love them as much as the next person, but squirrels sure are rebellious and inconsiderate creatures...

Glass of Spit presents: io w/ Sperare + Diamonds (flyer)

Here's the flyer that I made for Glass of Spit's 'io' gig in two weeks time. If you're in or near Birmingham that evening, maybe you should consider dropping by...

Moleskine Sketches Fifteen: 'The City One'

This is part of the view from my base room at Uni, of which my vacation (albeit about a month overdue) is imminent.
I've looked out on this scene pretty much five days a week for the past two years; mornings, afternoons, evenings, surrounded by other students or alone. It has accompanied me through frustration, stress, and adversity on countless occassions, and thus I am inclined to believe that I'll miss it when I leave.
Sometimes you just have to know when to move on...
